I don't really know, but maybe they just wanted to make it as real as possible.  Without all the glitz and such.  But that is just a guess.  I think it is really cool.

piano is nice and vocals aren't too bad either.

i don't think we should be analysing this performance much. i mean, it's just a little thing she did in her apartment.

i imagine they'll be using a band for performances because it's like she's starting out again.

but it's nice hearing it stripped down and that whole raw piano sound.

The performance of the song itself is only that long yeah. The mp3 is the correct length of time. The rest of the video is longer because of the interview.
