"This Is More Than A Fairytale"

Vanessa Carlton is someone that we have always loved, even if it was just for one song.

We remember her ascent in to rap while praying that it was only a joke. Evidently it was just a joke, because she is back - and hopefully - this time she might just have an album that is remembered for more than one song.

And it seems that it is already off to a good start. Where 'Be Not Nobody' is now only remembered for 'A Thousand Miles' - 'Heroes and Thieves' has a chance of being remembered for something more than just 'Nolita Fairytale'.

Sadly though, it seems to be evident of the Kelly Clarkson furore over 'Never Again' that this is posted on her Wikipedia page: "Heroes and Thieves is scheduled to release on October 9, 2007. The first single will be Nolita Fairytale, which shall come out on July 17, 2007. If this does not work well as a single, then Hands on Me (Put Your Hands On Me) will possibly be the second single."

That's right. There is already a new first single, in effect, worked out if 'Nolita Fairytale' ends up being a burden to everything.

Thankfully though, 'Nolita Fairytale' is rather stupefying. It is just brilliant. And really, it is always great when people say that they've found some kind of fairytale. It just makes the whole song seem better. It makes you able to listen without crying over the lost record contract - because she has found a fairytale. Have a listen.

Over the coming week we're planning to revamp our singles chart and there is a chance that she might be in the top twenty, because that is the kind of song it is. Where Siobhan Donaghy is the bowling ball, Vanessa Carlton is the pin. Strike.

It's great to see that it is getting some positive comments about the single!! I hope I am wrong and it does actually become a hit. Does anyone know anything about this source? Do they actually have any pull?

Don't worry; you're not the only one. I don't like it either.

The article is poorly written....  :?
"Music produces a kind of pleasure that human nature cannot do without."
-CONFUCIUS

"It is hard. You have to fight for who you are everyday" -VANESSA CARLTON

The article is not poorly written just because the person who wrote it likes the song and you don't.

noo.. the evaluation of the level of writing in this article has nothing do with Megan's opinion of the song... the article is indeed written quite poorly (i'm guessing a high schooler wrote it?)

yeah, that is what I figured. And I definately agree - whoever wrote this is not able to write very well. At least it is positive towards nessa. We can only hope the media has similar (albit well written) comments.

i think it's classic V with a twist....as a songwriter i know that your style changes with age and i like it when artists grow because their fans grow with them you wouldn't want her music to be exactly the same all the time that would be crap.

Personally though i kinda hope it fails coz i really really really want PYOHM to be the first single!!! YAY!!!!!

and there right you can't like every nessa song 'annie' took friggin ages to grow on me......AGES!  I still don't like she floats and rinse......well it's only fun when you play it..

so don't feel bad if you don't like it!!!!  it's only one song on the album!

growth is great.. i'm all for it. but i feel like she's taken a step backwards with nolita fairytale. i mean, from who's to say, private radio, winter(!), c'est la vie.. to "got my toes on my pup at the foot of my bed"? i mean, really...
