I know everyone was really worried about me being ok cause of the fact that the whole west cost is burning - but noho wasn't touched - thanks for your concern (sarcastic the whole thing is sarcastic - i know its hard to tell - i'm like at least 10 miles from any harm nooooo worries)

my asthma has been bothering me though - everyone in LA county has been recommended to stay indoors

so we're just supposed to let fires have a chance of killing people & not put it out? your an idiot.

No.  You're supposed to not live up in the mountains and in the plains where these fires occur.

If you didn't, they wouldn't spread to the big cities because they would never get big enough!

Tah Duh!

Kinda like not building your house in the mountains where the wildcats will eat your dogs, and not building your house on stilts on the beach where erosion will carry it away and not building your house in the hills where mudslides will wreck it.

Stop putting houses in RIDICULOUSLY dangerous places and then trying to change nature to suit you.  Nature WILL NOT CHANGE.  And everytime you put up a wall to stop it, it's going to get worse.

are you a firefighter? if not, why in the world would they ask for your help? you dont even live here

Laura, you're 21 years old.  I should not have to explain federal aid to you.

That is not always the case grakthis.  I think we know now part of the problem is the laid off seasonal firefighters.

More fire fighers would have just delayed the problem.

We can't do the controlled burning that is neccesary because people put their houses there.

Can you immagine how many fire fighters you'd need to clear the brush out and move it far enough away from the houses so that you could safely burn it?

It's just not feasible.

As long as people keep building towards the areas where these fires occur, they will keep burning further and further into the cities.

This trail of houses going from the brushlands into the cities is like a gigantic WICK leading straight to downtown LA.

More fire fighters would just delay the problem.

The problem is human arrogance.

This is sooo scary! It's not anywhere near my town (about 45 mins is the closest) though. I know my friends who go to the San Diego universities have had cancelled classes lately because they can't even breathe the air outside.
I can't believe the cause of some of them is thought to be arson! Some people are soooo sick!

i've never been the praying kind
but lately i've been down upon my knees
not looking for a miracle
just a reason to believe"

There could be two; you just have to actually add it.  As in, "Bite my ass' ass,"  which is like saying bite my donkey's ass.  You could add to it and, "Bite my miserable old ass' ass."

Those fires could still spread to cities. Fires just don't go away on their own, do they? Plus people like ME cant help who lives in the mountains so don't blame all Californians.

great, not only have you said the fires are my fault, but now your calling me stupid. i know federal aid helps people, like in Katrina & other things, but i don't really know much more info. about it. so i guess you'll just have to explain it because I'm so stupid.

So apparently at least one of the fires was set by an arsonist. Yay.

Just kidding of course.
