They will never get it.

I remember when V was on Duets, she'd mentioned that the piano rift was when the piano was singing and she wanted the chick to play it slowly and meaningfully.

This. What Miss Cole has done is just the entire opposite of that.

It's more Blech *Insert vomiting smiley*

I wonder what Nessa would think D: Hopefully she won't hear the song. Bleh.

Heh funny thing was, I was partly tired and it was kinda late last night when I went to bed but at first I thought we were talking about Sheryl Crow. My bad. It's funny how the brain reads things a certain way XD I never heard of Cheryl Cole tho D: I mostly only listen to singers that is similar to like Nessa or Ingrid, etc. :P

But hey, everyone is entitled to his own opinion.

At least Cheryl hasn't done "Carousel" yet. If she did, I'd be very mad. LOL.

I think we're all being a little harsh here. Cheryl's music isn't supposed to be beautiful, deep or melodically moving; her genre is pop & dance hits, and this song fits that perfectly. True, she turned V's masterpiece into something less than spectacular, but if you listen to this with the idea of dancing to it in a club rather than being moved by the music, it's a fairly decent song and I would have a blast dancing to it.

Also, Ingrid wrote Parachute with the intention of someone else singing it, and she was extremely excited Cheryl was the one who picked it up. It gave her a lot of publicity and huge amounts of royalties in the UK. She only decided to sing it herself recently, and even her version has some auto-tune in it.

With that being said, I'm in no way saying that Cheryl is an amazing singer, but she is an artist with a genre very different than V or Ingrid's, and we should respect that. Her trying to do an acoustic version of ATM would be a totally different story though, but luckily, that's not the case here.

Tbh, i don't think that anyone's intention in this forum is to be disrespectful towards any artist. Everyone is just giving his honest opinion and others joke about it  :D

I have to say something else tho, just because a song is intended to be a dance song, pop hit or whatever, doesn't mean it can't be good in every way, or beautiful or melodically moving.

And btw, more than dancing, i see myself fist pumping to that song, lol!!

I agree with both of you, guys. We've got the freedom to express whatever we want to think. No one wants to be harsh on Cheryl. We just all want to express our thoughts.

And I agree that V and Cheryl are two far different artists. We just reacted this way because I guess we don't like what she had made out of the riff V is most famous for.

She's an alright dancer, but she sings badly live lol. Not surprised she mimed.

And that "Waiting" song should be available now.
