and im sorry but rule 9 partains to the respect of watching your mouth for youngsters, however the whole thread is something i wouldnt want my kid reading, even at the age of 16 i wouldnt want my kid knowing about all sorts of sexual positions and fantasies of people on the internet,

That is a total stretch of Rule 9 if I've ever seen one.  BTW, does anyone else we're arguing over these rules like it's the friggin Constitution?!

Rule 9 pertains to language.  That simple.  You can NOT say "oh but it deals with any issue that might hamper children".

GSU, all i do is watch you whine all day about people, i feel like im arguing with an arrogant child whenever you speak, and i hope that insults you as much as you insult me every time you post here, at least my posts are in an attempt to be friendly...its not a stretch of the rule, sexual content is launguage and unnacceptable language imho

I can't argue that.  I really can't.

The fact is, I've never said anything bad about you--you have taken all the namecalling on by yourself.  I can't do anything about that--I've even apologized for the fact that I said it--still, to no avail.

because in the hey pete thread it wouldnt be two people, it would be anyone who wanted to join the conversation, you locking a hey pete thread means we will just make up a thread like this thread i just made so we can all take therefore you guys create more work for yourselves and more useless chat threads....now this thread is rather serious so its not just a silly chat thread, but that was my intention..i cant say hey Brian, or talk to me here because it gets locked, so i needed to make a point, im sorry i did it the smartass way but i really didnt have any other ideas at the time

Again, to reiterate a central point.  If you used the SAME THREAD every day for your silly chats, NO ONE WOULD COMPLAIN.  no one would mind.  Everyone would be happy.

Its the REDUNDANT threads the make people mad.

go back and look at why this didn't end up a silly chat thread and why it ended up not being locked.  Trust me, when i first saw it i was just going to lock it, then i figured you have problems, Todd has problems... Let's work them out and thus kept it open for a discussion.  Just because you didn't title it "Hey Pete" doesn't mean it wasn't on the chopping board for lockage.

I don't read every thread, i don't have that kind of time... but if i did, i assure you my locking patterns would be consistent.  There are 10 mods, we can't all perceive threads the same way upon investigating them.  I thought about locking this, but at the same time... people are trying to accomodate you believe it or not and NOT enforce all the rules and lock things on you... because they like you.  *sigh*

Then again you dont have to just spout random directionless insults because you feel annoyed, like i said, your sex thread annoyed me, and i didnt complain openly until now, and i only complained because you are beginning to make me sick

Not all of them get locked.  Personally, I would think it would be neat to have one big thread for all of your discussions with Si and BDub etc... since, unlike the oboard, they aren't all on one screen.

Notice how we STRIVE to keep like topics in 1 thread?  Its really a central goal here.

I mean this in all seriousness, it's not an insult.  I can't really understand a word of what you're saying because your English--well, it leaves something to be desired.  I realize that you're probably using your "relaxed, message board" English where punctuation is of no importance, but I can't really respond when I don't understand a word of what you're saying.

Like i said, i made more topics because others were locked and im not going to hunt for the unlocked ones because they would probably get locked eventually too...whats the point if they fall off the page when we leave anyways, This is the OT section, and really none of the threads here should be that signifigant....in fact i could go and find every single one that isnt significant and i bet it would represent at least 50%...so why 2% of threads get locked, because some people are liked more than others...i may like people differently or even dislike some people, but im not here to prove that, and i certainly wouldnt buy a domain and dedicate it to a singer and try to make it an official fanclub if certain fans were going to be treated depending on how much the owners like them

Pete, here is what was nice before.  WE could have several threads that would stay on the first page for WEEKS.  We didn't have to hunt them down.  And frankly, there is no reason for it NOT to be like that.

Off topic does not mean insignificant.  It means off topic.

Don't do things the rules say you shouldn't do.  Follow the letter and not the spirit, and all will be well.

Hell Pete, im an asshole, but ive NEVER had a thread locked! NEVER!

ahh yes, but how quickly we forgot what Andrew already pointed out.

people pay for the domain, pay for the server, the bandwidth, the database space usage... these things are not free unfortunately.

the worthless chat threads that go no where take up database space and CPU cycles that *I* have to worry about.  Does it really matter all taht much? no, not really in the grand scheme of thigns.  Does this board function better than the VCMB did?  yea, it's up mroe... it works better... it doesn't give a shitload of errors.

the people that pay and dedicate their time to creating something, made rules.  One of the rules was, we don't wish to see chat threads.  When someone creates one, it get's locked.  If another one is created, it's locked too.  It makes one wonder, exactly how many threads have to get locked before someone get's the picture?  Yes, you have to create more because the others are locked!

Does everyone want to start paying per month to have something?  If you do, then we can all have somewhat of a say.  Chat threads annoy me, i made the rules (and they were agreed upon by all Mods)... if you have a problem with that, then you can either disobey the rules, or leave.

I hate to say leave because really, i would like for people to say, but i refuse to try to please all 100% of the population any longer.  If *I* am paying to have this domain up, and spending countless hours of my personal time maintaining the server, web space, database, backing thigns up, doing upgrades and *I* get annoyed by seeing chat threads?  well guess what, no more chat threads!

sorry, that is the truth.  take it or leave it.
I <3 Nicole
