like i state in the other thread i have done things and am willing to do things, yet i know ub's who have done less.  Thats unwelcoming, im getting wise because i had a serious complaint and it got blown off, and worse it was blown off because im a "smartass"(haha real funny but you upset me and my friend both by saying that to her, you know who you are).  The only reason i complained is because other threads have been shut down for FAR less.....i think youre modding system is unfair and insulting in itself..

I disagree.

Not to be perceived as a smart ass (though I am), but tough cookies.  Chat threads are totally annoying.

if you said 70% of o boarders are retards i would still feel insulted, my guess is 1-2%

Ok, its officially time for me to get inolved.

First off... Pete, this is the root of the WHOLE problem.  You dont see a problem with the bevior of 70% of the people on the o-board and I DO.

Anyone who stands on my side is gonna disagree with anyone who stands on YOUR side.

Now, this board is not like the o-board because it has a PRIVATE nature to it.  The owners want things a specific way.  It is not OUR place to demand change.

I had a problem with one of the rules, I voiced my complaint, I was overruled by the mods.  At that point I had 2 options...

1) accept it and stay
2) leave

I choose the previous, obviously.

If you dont like the rules or the way the rules are enforced, then you can LEAVE HERE.  Don't stay if you dont like it.

This is not a democracy, its an oligopoly... but its a benevolent one.  You can leave any time you want.

Don't come here and pretend you own the place or that YOU get to make rules or even demand equality.  Cause you dont get to make demands.  This is not a democracy.

They the mods decide to create a red badge for all o-boarders who are visiting and make them wear it, or create a members only section then THATS THEIR RIGHT.  STOP BITCHING.

They have NO OBLIGATION legally or ethically to deal with Mal's mothers snooping.

They have NO OBLIGATION to the 12 year olds who lie about their age

They have NO OBLIGATION to the 15 year olds who decide they are offended by the language or the thread content.

If you dont like it, leave.

They are protected by the freedom of speech to post whatever they want on this page (beyond the obvious such as porn and snuff etc).

If you have a problem with ANY of these rules as I have laid them out.... LEAVE.

Mods, if I have overstepped my bounds, let me know... but I feel what im saying here is valid and I dont like watching my friends get attacked for wanting ot enjoy the MB they created.

are you personally offended by the fact that people are discussing sex on the forums?
-katia

In all honesty im not exactly some sexual deviant so yes it does offend me, are you pleased that i told you, because i would have rather let people have their sex thread, id rather my chat threads dont get complained about
two *completely* different things..
a common sex thread for several members to go discuss various things on a forum is one thing...
a chat thread for you to talk back and forth with someone where it could have just as easily been done in PM or AIM or some other form of communication is something different.

Chat thread ARE annoying.  When something is started saying "Hey Pete!"  and you respond with "hey there, how're you?" ... i mean c'mon, i have those conversations in AIM every day.  Granted, since this thread seems to be you and I responding, we could just take it to PM or AIM, but i would like to see others respond if they so desire.

This is a forum, not a chat room...why don't people get the difference?

btw, if you are genuinely "offended" by the Sex thread, i'll take it up with the other mods when they're on.

-katia

On the other forum a "hey pete" thread would have been used by a few members.  You dont even give the thread a chance to be used so obviously we are just going to make other threads and chat in them...its redundant on itself...and more so i have stated i am unable to use chat programs at work...also i get up and leave all day long to fix user issues at work which are unpredictable. the forum is easy to come back later and catch up on your conversation.

so if a thread is titled "Sex" you have the right not to go into because it says "Sex" in the title..your words...which are fine

if a thread is titled "Hey Pete", you (Todd, or anyone else who hates those threads) have the right not to enter the thread as well.....kinna goes the same over at the o-board....you dont like the thread title, you dont go in...

oi, we have a rule that says no chat threads, no where does it say "no sex threads"

What is unfair?  The fact that on average you have more locked threads than others so for some reason the mods like you less?  Really, i don't care whose thread it is i lock, or move... as long as it keeps riff raff and multiple threads, and so on down to a minimum so be it... it doesn't alter my opinion or perception of anyone.

I'll reiterate again... THEY HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY to justify their system to you.

Go away if you dont like the rules.

If their system drives people away, then the MB will cease to be fun.  But apparently it was working for the last 6 months or so, so maybe the problem is with the NEW people and not with the system?

You dont seem to understand Andrew that im not asking for a change, im asking for them to do things the way the rules themselves state they will, for one thread that breaks rules to be let go and another to get locked is absurd, I have said i am leaving, not because i dont like people here because i like everyone, even all the people who whine and irritate the hell out of me, i just dont feel like dealing with it here when i dont even have to over there, i dont own this board or that board..but im a fan, maybe not the biggest fan but i feel like a circus monkey here instead of a fan of one singer..its overrated

You are more than welcome to create a SINGLE thread to chat in day after day after day.  Just dont make a new one every time.  Make a single thread that says "O-boarder Chat" and reuse it.  No one will complain EVER.

what is the point though?  Seriously... what is the advantage of posting back and forth in a thread, vs just PMing the person?  Why is "chat threads" which is another term for "let's post back and forth so i can get my post count up real high" so much better?

I just don't get it... really i don't.  I would love for someone to be able to explain it to me.

I'm lost to as how a 'sex thread' broke the given rules.  The only explanation that I've heard is that it breaks rule 9, which deals with foul language--in other words, you're twisting the rules to fit your argument.
