A Thousand Miles? well that one has a special meaning to me! it was just getting big around the same time my grandma passed away, so i guess thats why i have this interpretation. that she's missing someone who has passed away.

"and I need you
and I miss you
and now I wonder"
^ saying she misses the person

"if I could fall into the sky
do you think time would pass me by
cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles
if I could see you ... tonight"
^ falling into the sky, maybe cause she knows the person is in heaven, and she wants to be with him/her for a little while and wonders if time would pass her while she was there.

"it's always times like these
when I think of you
and I wonder if you ever think of me

cause everything's so wrong
and I don't belong
livin' in your precious memory"
^ living in the memory the person has left behind.

so yeah... i guess i just think of because of what i was going through when the song was out, and that song got me through it.
"i'm willing to do anything
to calm the storm in my heart
i've never been the praying kind
but lately i've been down upon my knees
not looking for a miracle
just a reason to believe"

I did a small report on this song for school, and I saw it as a girl who finally has everything she ever wanted. But now she has nothing else to want, no more dreams, no more fantasies. She has nothing to live for.

hmmm...ATM seems pretty self-explanatory except for the "if I could fall into the sky/do you think time would pass me by?" part. Holly's interpretation of that definitely sounds like it could be possible...je me demande.

Swindler is a really special song to me because the lyrics could be my biography!  I think that everyone has been taken advantage of in a relationship at some point for whatever reasons.
It is a crime to kill a neighbor, and an act of heroism to kill an enemy.  But who is an enemy and who is a neighbor is purely a matter of social definition.  - E.R. Leach

yeah, Paradise seems like it's about giving up and suicide. and that the girls looking back on how nice her life was before everything went downhill.

i always thought that she floats was about her childhood for somereason

"wearing black pattented mary janes" i always think of a little girl wearing mary janes you know?

"god knows secrets that i told" little girls tell their friends secrets

"shes not thinking bout anything, she floats" when youre a kid you dont really think deeply bout too much stuff, i never really got the "she floats" part though..
well i guess vanessa proved my interpretation wrong but thats what i used to think.

now paradise, i dont want to start a controversy or people being angry or offended or anything, but i always interpreted paradise to be a song about almost losing virginity?

"once upon a year gone by she saw herself give in
every time she closed her eyes she saw what could have been
well nothing hurts and nothing bleeds when covers tucked in tight
funny when the bottom drops out, she forgets to fight, to fight
"

no one else has said anything about that, but thats just what i thought of the first time i heard this song...
"Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy"
-Ludwig van Beethoven

ooo...thats so possible.

well nothing hurts and nothing bleeds when covers tucked in tight

that could be very literal lol.

and its one more day in paradise
one last chance to feel alright

maybe shes reliving the last day before...er...it... happened and regretting it? knowing she'll never feel or be 'alright" again. she'll never be in the paradise of youth and innocence again.

i thought it was her troubles (like twilight) leaving ballet and into music, but finding the music bussiness a struggle as well...

"every time she closed her eyes she saw what could have been" seeing what she could have been if she stayed in ballet.

and she wasn't her happiest during the time she was at that school...

but i guess it could be about losing your virginity...IDK.

of course that makes the whole "don't you try to hold it" verse sound really nasty.
