So many of you will change in so many ways as far as your straight or non straight edge lifestyle goes. Many of you will do things you never thought you would and others may stop doing the things they do now.

I just think it's funny to hear people say what they will and won't EVER do. Good Luck.

this is very true. i think whether or not you're straight edge really depends on what kind of people you're surrounded by. i'm straight edge mainly to shove it up my friends' asses. i couldn't stand the pressure some of them put on each other to get drunk at parties, so i decided i wouldn't act as dumb as they were. but that's not to say at college i won't try a drink or go to a party...if i'm around people that don't care, then chances are things will change. who knows.

I'm not 100% straight edge...
I have never smoked or done drugs and I plan on waiting till marriage to have sex.
I do drink, but very very rarely. I only drink when I'm away on vacations, and then normally it's only an occasional glass of wine, or a beer with my parents (or in a more recent case a shot of vodka, but thats something you have to do in russia, haha). I have only really drinken 3 or 4 drinks without my parents knowing, and 2 of those were in one night.

so yeah... my straight edgeness has a couple knicks. But i'm pretty good overall.

well if you're already saying that "if you're around peeps who don't care" then you probably will. Just be safe by keeping yourself around peeps that really care about you.

This thread makes baby jesus cry.

Straight Edge means a lot more than just not doing drugs, alcohol or having sex.

That's like claiming to be a rapper because you wear your hat backwards.

I wish there were a way to represent infinite   's

Yep, I'm straight edge. Just call me "Prudey"
and I mean that in the Victorian sense, not the modern connotation

Straight Edge was a punk movement.  It means being part of the hardcore indy/punk rock lifestyle but not subscribing to the drugs, alcohol and sex abuse that were associated with it.

OFTEN times it also involved religion.

If you do not mosh, listen to loud angry music or wear lots of black and silver then do not call yourself "Straight edge."

What most of the people in this thread are ACTUALLY is called "young and naive."  Which is very different from straight edge.

Edit: Also, the straight edge movement jumped the shark about 10 years ago.  It's over.  Done.  Stop talking about it.

Thanks C :)

Although now the British words are replaced with American words. The humour suddenly seems too obvious and immature, almost like an episode of Will and Grace. None of the dry subtle wit that it possessed before ;-)

Edit: I'm going to preempt any comebacks invoking Benny Hill. Not funny and never was. Nobody may use him in any posts following this one.
