Brooke Fraser has been mentioned in the Australian Singer/songwriters thread, but I felt she deserved her own thread, too  :D.

Brooke is a 20 year old singer/songwriter from New Zealand who's debut album What To Do With Daylight released in New Zealand on January 12, 2004. She wrote all 11 songs on the album and played either guitar (which she self-taught at 16) or piano (which she started at age 7) on each song.

I found out about her music through a friend on LJ who sent me "Indelible" and I loved it. My favorite songs are "Indelible" (slower acoustic guitar/some piano), "Lifeline" (acoustic guitar/drums mostly), "Arithmetic" (piano) and "Scarlet" (piano).

The music is totally awesome. I definitely recommend checking it out!  :D

;)

I saw her live on her first Australian tour...in August or September I think. She blew me away with her performance (I have a bunch of photos somewhere)..then I downloaded the album and wasn't too impressed. Her power definitely lies in her live performance..thanks for that though Aaron, Better is definitely one of my favourite songs from last year.

I love Brooke!

Found her when she opened for John Mayer in April last year, got her single and album as soon as it came out.

Shes released like 4 or 5 songs in NZ but only lifeline here.

I love Saving the world, lifeline & Indelible
