Nobody ever answered my question, so I'll ask again...

What exactly is "Hard To Love You" about?

not sure exactly, I think there was some discussion about this on the jh.net boards...
i'm guessing it's about her parents and husband Teddy  :?

in one of their last interviews, meech talks about how only jess and jess's parents were supportive of her and teddy  . her parents, her label, pretty much everybody was against their relationship.her parents didn't like the idea of her dating a musician. So I think the song is about that. Meech's version of who's to say lol

i kind of looked at it as being about the music industry.. "took a mistake to really show me exactly what they were like" i kind of take that to mean that everything was fine, until she started doing things differently (maxim, teddy, country, the post she made on the message board) and then people didn't like that so much and turned on her. "why do i try to make them happy"..same thing.

i dunno. that was my take on it... i could just be crazy. and it would make sense if it was about teddy and her parents and stuff.

Woohoo! I'm going to be seeing them at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills (like 15 minutes from my house) on July 18. I'm so excited! TicketMaster has the dates wrong so I had to call the venue to get tickets.

tennessee is so perfect, almost too perfect, amazing. And I love when they play my oh my, looks like they have so much fun. How come they don't sing that well on tv shows? these internet accoustic performances are always better than the tv ones. I guess they get nervous on tv.

Jessica seems to get really nervous. I guess it's understandable since she doesn't have the exposure Michelle has so she's not accustomed to being on TV with millions of people watching.

I agree I really like Tennessee. It's one of my favorite songs now.

When their songs are as vague as this and could be interpreted many different ways, I always assume it's about the music industry because their songs about boys and whatnot are much more straight forward.

I think HTLY is about Michelle's problems with her stereotypical fan that only knows her market image and flips out whenever she does something that doesn't fit that image along with being about the music industry...

...but, as Sammy pointed out, the lyrics are too vague to really know for sure.
