“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”

~ Teddy Roosevelt

hhmm I suppose two spring to my mind ...

life is not a rehersal
just reminds me of how there really are no second takes

but then you have someone once telling me that
the only thing that's irreversible is death

Anyway those two are for just life stuff ..
my favourtie gggrrr go get em quote is
Just do it
for some reason it just makes me do stuff ... if I don't want to .. It's really silly but it inspires me immensly!
Just do it.. like just don't think and don't make assumptions and don't worry about what could should would be ... just act.

it's brilliant!

Then there's this email that I JUST got .. so I thought would be appropriate to post...
Why People are strange ...

They lose their health to make money...
and then lose their money to restore their health.

By thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present,
such that they live in neither the present nor the future.

They live as if they will never die, and die as though they had never lived.

Then there is the usual
it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love,
and it can take many years to heal them.

A rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least."

Just because someone doesn't do things your way doesn't mean it's the wrong way

Two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.

Never forget what others have done for you, but never remember what you have done for others.

I only know in Portuguese

Me digas com quem tu andas, que eu te direi quem tu és

I think it is

Tell me with who you walk, then I'll say you who you are

It's quite clear

"Music is the only thing in this world, with the exception of sneezing and looking at the sunset, that takes you to a place that's above the mundane. Everything else is just bullshit." - Stephan Jenkins

"There is nothing like dream to create the future. Utopia to-day, flesh and blood tomorrow."
Victor Hugo, Les Miserables, 1862

These lines are lyrics from one of Jason Mraz's songs, What it takes (is there a favourite lyrics thread?)

"it takes no time to fall in love
but it takes you years to know what love is
it takes some tears to make you trust
it takes some years to make it rust
it takes some dust to make it polished"

there's only four seasons
and this one's almost gone
these nights feel so good
but this one's almost gone

ooo... i also love Jason Mraz's lyrics from "Tonight, Not Again"

"It's when you cry just a little
but you laugh in the middle that you've made it"
"i'm willing to do anything
to calm the storm in my heart
i've never been the praying kind
but lately i've been down upon my knees
not looking for a miracle
just a reason to believe"

an old episode of Oprah reminded me of my once favourite quote:

You're never really ready you just close your eyes and jump.

Jim Carey:
If you aren't in the moment
you're either looking forward to uncertainty
or you're looking backward usually to pain and regret ..

basically the point ..
live in the moment.

Permit me to solve the mystery.

Looks like you clicked "quote" instead of "edit" when you wanted to change "makers..." to "makers,"
