Thanks for the MP3 Martin, but in case any peeps here haven't yet seen the official video for Laughing With, its here;

Seriously eye-catching video that features an Escheresque b/g with a twist on Regina's paper frame animations  :o

I am really loving this album. My favorites are Eet and One More Time With Feeling. The only one I don't care for is Human of the Year. It just bores me.

But I'm having trouble figuring out what she's talking about in "Man Of A Thousand Faces" and "Genius Next Door." Any interpretations?

I think "Genius Next Door" touches on suicide...dunno if the song is purely based on that. Need to have a few more listens, but she sings "if you just hold in your breath 'til you come back up again" ... I also think she's being sarcastic a little by calling him a genius because he doesn't sound like one at all ... But that part could be wrong as I haven't listened to it much.

Yeah, I get the impression that he was a bit of a loner and although he WAS a bit of a genius, she contradicts that by calling him foolish and stupid for what he did (committed suicide). So the lake is a place where all the kids swim, hang out, have sex in, etc. He goes in there to experience a different kind of orgasm - death. He takes his clothes off and drowns himself. He hopes his death will make him get noticed, but no one really gives a shit (she talks about the neighbours starting their cars & going to work, the kids waking up with hangovers, bin men emptying the bins which hold his clothes, etc - just carrying on with their lives, basically) and so it was all for nothing, pretty much.

Dunno if that helps or if it's right, but that's what I got from it.

I love it.

"Carbon Monoxide" is similar kind of...she talks about a couple who make a suicide pact.

I finally got hold of a copy, but after registering at a bunch of sites offering pay-for-dl via Paypal that also required a
credit card as a back-up to the e-cheque used for the transactions, I had to resort to the link by Kupalski above  :P

Really loving Two Birds & Folding Chair. Dance anthem of the 80's such a great comment on dating in that period  :-* :-*

Peace

"Two Birds" and "One More Time With Feeling" have grown on me a lot.

I LOVEEE "Machine" <3 I get the impression that what with all the technology we have (and is still to come), we aren't heading towards a better future?

Has anyone heard her latest album, "What We Saw From Cheap Seats?" It's pretty awesome. I personally like 'How,' 'Jessica,' and 'Firewood.'
