if i WAS ignorant, then how come the people that know and encounter me tell me i have knowledge beyond my years, b/c of the things and issues i talk about, that people don't normally talk about?
I've been told that same thing. Plus, I have a sigma 3+ IQ. I've held positions of authority and responsibility that would destroy most kids my age. 1 4rt 13373r 7h4n j00. Big friggin deal. So everything I say is automatically right, correct? Nah.... that's just a worthless ethical appeal. Learn a thing or two about rhetoric, ok? Arguments are won their merits, not on the merits of the presenter, unless, of course, the argument is being presented to idiots. All the appeal to authority in the world doesn't make sexual repression and promiscuity mutually compatible.
that's why i joined forums to start with, b/c i'm a firm believer that your opinion is important, even if there's disagreement every now and then.... now, you guys act as if yours is more important than mine, just b/c you don't agree with what i believe. and i don't really have to argue my point and explain myself, b/c people are either gonna get you or they won't.
I disagree that all opinions are important. Most are worthless. A small fraction of them are actually insightful, and thus, worthwhile. But, of course, this is my opinion. It's just as important as yours, right? :roll:
Additionally, if your opinion doesn't hold up under scrutiny, it doesn't mean that people don't get it. Often, it means they get better than you and they see why it's wrong. Most of us are simply too proud to change our minds a lot of the time, myself included.
I have no beef against you. I just wish you'd argue somewhat rationally.
