Okay, I admit... I straight jacked this idea from Evboard. I thought it would be kind of fun.

When I read the topic about Evboard's music scene, it made me think about how I've really enjoyed posting here in the Other Musicians section because this board is really a hotbed for music, especially in representing independent or lesser-known artists. In addition to that, we have a unique group of musicians who actually post on this forum. I was curious to see which band/artist is reguarded by the people of this board as the most liked/best artist other than Vanessa Carlton, and here we are now.

Here's the deal...

There will be 4 brackets of 16 bands/artists each...64 in all. This will basically be run like the NCAA Tournament, except I don't care about RPI, stregnth of schedule, or any other random statistic, and YOU get to decide who wins :wink:.

The bands in the tournament were seperated into a top 32 (1-8 seeds) and bottom 32 (9-16 seeds). The top 32 bands/artists all had at least 100 replies to their respective threads, or are popular/board favorite artists who very well could have 100 posts eventually. The bottom 32 were chosen by overall thread popularity, notoriety, and general relation to the board. All seeding except for the #1 seeds (chosen on the basis of most replies to their respective threads) were assigned by a random drawing.

For the first round you will vote on two brackets this week (A Thousand Miles Bracket & White Houses Bracket) and two next week (Ordinary Day Bracket, Pretty Baby Bracket). Each voting session will last one week begining on Sunday at 12:00am and ending the following Saturday at 11:59pm (central time, since I'm running this :razz:). This will continue each week until we get all the way down to the final two (Survivor from the ATM/WH Bracket side against Winner from the OD/PB Bracket side) and crown a NESSAholics.com Forums Champion.

Your job is to vote in this thread or PM your votes to me for each artist battle. This is your chance to decide which band/artist is second banana to Vanessa Carlton on this board, so choose wisely. :wink:
