I started a poll asking which previously unreleased Vanessa track people would most like to see make onto her next album and I was kinda surprised that most of the votes were going to her more conventional songs and almost no one voted for her darker songs. 8O

One of the reasons I enjoy Vanessa's music so much is that she's equally good at writing songs with either of these two moods, but after seeing the results of that other poll, I'm curious to know whether the average fan prefers her darker songs like: Paradise, She Floats, The Wreckage, Wonder, Little Mary, etc....Or her more conventional songs like: A Thousand Miles, San Francisco, etc.

I know, we all LOVE all of her songs or we wouldn't be here.   And I know some of her songs are pretty 50/50 dark and conventional, but try to make little distinction if you can.  If you think about it, which style of Vanessa song do you seem to prefer?

Although I absolutely adore Who's to Say, Wanted, Unsung, etc.  I think if I ranked all of Vanessa's songs, the ones with a somewhat darker edge to them would get higher rankings overall.  But that's just me, what do you think?

I like her dark lyrics because the songs have a deeper and better meaning than the conventional ones.

I Loved every type of VC song. But I tend to get closer to her darker songs, they seem to seperate her from other artists. But I do respect all of her work.

we all know that v rock, regardless of her "style of the moment"

the dark side is just so much more, "relatable" because we all have moments when we dont feel conventional.

most of the artists in the music industry have a conventional persona, but v is like a breath of fresh air...

I like the heart-wrenching quality of VC's darker tunes.  But I enjoy some points of light.  That;s why I love her albums.  They are a good mix oif dark witha  pinch of light.

That is exactly what I was thinking!
Although I tend to enjoy her darker songs a tad more.

Ever heard of metal? Lol. But seriously, it's an issue for artists who aspire to be successful to the mainstream audience.

I much prefer Nessa's "Dark Side", lol.
