Using 1 drain, a swimming pool can be emptied in 45 minutes. Using a different drain, the job requires 1 hour and 15 minutes. How long will it take if both drains are opened?

D1 empties pod in 45mins
D2 empties pod in 75mins

in 1 min-

D1 empties 1/45 of pod
D2 empties 1/75 of pod

together in 1 min 1/45 + 1/75 =

75/3375 + 45/3375 =

15/675 + 9/675 =

24/675 of the pod empties in 1 min

1/675 empties in 1min / 24 = 0.416666(r) so...

pool empties in 675x0.416666(r) = 28.125

675/24 = 28.125mins

= 28mins 71/2 secs

next question: One pipe can fill a tank in 4 hours. A second pipe also requires 4 hours, but a third needs three hours. How long will it take to fill the tank if all three pipes are open?

in 1 hour-

pipe A fills 1/4 tank
pipe B fills 1/4 tank
pipe C fills 1/3 tank

1/4 + 1/4 + 1/3 =

3/12 + 3/12 + 4/12 =

10/12 in 1 hour therefore,

1/12 tank filled in 6x12 mins

= 72mins or 1hour 12mins

3rd question: Two men are playing chess. They played five games and each man won the same number of games with no ties. how is this possible?

5th question: If dirt wighs 100 ib. per cubic foot, what is the weight of dirt in a hole three feet sqare by two feet deep?

you dont get dirt in a hole because a hole is empty space.

6th question: If you had only one match and entered a dark room which there was a kerosene lamp, an oil burner, and a wood burning stove, which would you light first?

youd light the match 1st because all the rest need fire to start with.

i hate starbucks and all these massive coffe places.

i use them loads but they need to improve by getting english speaking staff. who are not rude. evian water not some water that looks like it was filled up in a bath.

unhealthy food. all like rhy bread or some crap. why whats wrong with white bread or normal brown bread?! ffs stop trying to be so damn fancy.

and bring more of those custard cake things in. they are nice.

im 12ish stone and im 6'1"

that converts to 168lbs

currently on a big weight gain exercise 4-5meals a day careatine twice a day. gym 3times min a week.

aiming to bench 100kg (220lbs) in a month and a target of 3 stone to put on (or 42lbs) benching 80kg now (172lbs).

ive put on half a stone since i started to do this. its a lot harder to put on weight than i thought.

yea it had a right messed up plot. not the zombie rage thing. the bit with the soldiers. i thought the  film was very entertaining which in my mind makes it a good fil. cant w8 for this daw of the dead. that looks badass

i want her too as well. paradise is such a coo song!

has VC done a show with a full orchestra. that would be awsome. I have a matellica album when they played with an orchestra. it is so badass!

I dunno if a live album would be good. I do know that when she releases any thing its good. but i got so much live stuff (and im sure you all do) and i like it being raw on burned cds and on my mp3 player.

i just love her voice so much and my heart does a little skip when i read there is a new song or some 1 has an old version of such and such.

i like 3eb. ever since american pie 1 i brought the sound track and ive liked um ever since. i was gonna get their new album the other day but i got natalie merchants motherland instead.

she is a great singer real powerful voice but maybe a bit to folk for me. still i do really like her stuff. if u can find a song called MY SKIN. it is like omg badass song.

that was actually a really good poem!

its not often i enjoy poetry, but that was actually fun. ima print it off and read it some more so i can get a better feel for what everything means!
