I agree, there's nothing terribly wrong with being a one hit wonder. It means everyone knows her, at least, for that one song. I just hope she keeps making music-- whether it becomes popular or not. I'm actually kind of glad that she's so low on the list, because that means she stands a better chance of coming back!

I haven't been following V much lately, so I decided to check her myspace to see what she was up to and her most recent post said she played at Disney. I was like, "Huh. That's weird."

Then I came here and saw "Vanessa Carlton booted from Disney Festival for Swearing" and I was like, "Of course, that is so Nessa."

On the one hand, it's kind of funny. On the other, it's sad that this is some of the only news about her right now.

i was front row center along with 2 other fans...

LOL! Was that me and my best friend? We were the ones with the poster. I was so conflicted about my poster! I wanted to show my love for V, but I also felt bad about blocking people's view, but then I thought well, it's not like anyone is paying to see her. So we just put it up intermittently, mostly after songs.

I agree that the audience was annoying. This kid next to me didn't know anything about V, but he tried sharing in our poster and stuff, I guess because he thought she was pretty. And I swear, I like "A Thousand Miles" but I almost hate the song because of it's popularity. It just kind of annoys me the way people react to it. I really hope some of her other songs reached the audience.

V looked lovely and came out and started playing Nolita Fairytale. I loved her arrangement of Pretty Baby (I never knew she hated the arrangement on the cd) and was ecstatic that she played Half a Week Before the Winter. I love More Than This and thought it was a beautiful song to end with.

Too bad we didn't get to meet, ILoveHanson. Maybe we can meet up next time she's in the area and at a real concert!

^^I seriously thought this whole song was about her dad because of this lyric haha. When she says, "He sits behind a desk of mahogany," I was imaging her father sitting behind a desk.

I totally thought the same thing. I never even thought it was wrong until you mentioned it. Are the actual words "that he"? I mean, sometimes the booklets are wrong.

LOL, I totally forgot that Nat & Sam witnessed BB being recorded in the studio, and that I had dled that clip months ago. But I can't fathom why Vanessa is withholding studio recorded b-sides from us. Why?? Is she holding them over so that she can release another album like next year or something? I would totally kill a puppy (the ultimate sin!) just to have studio recorded versions of "All is Well" and "Best Behavior." I would...

I was working on it but I've been really busy lately so I've kind of abandoned it. Plus, I don't find the sheet music program I have easy to use. That's why I don't make that many transcriptions.

I always thought the line in Who's to Say was "Do your trick, turn on the stars of Jupiter" and that always struck me as wtf.

Wait, I don't get that line either. Is it "Do your trick / Turn on the stars / Jupiter shines so bright / When you're around"? Because for some reason it never clicked that way in my mind. I guess it's because the word Jupiter is so separated from the rest of the words.
