I am really digging Sara Bareilles recently. Her single "Love Song" is amazingly catchy and the rest of the album is actually even better than that song. My favorite right now is "Come Round Soon." I love the way she uses the lower keys, it reminds me of Tori.

:) Anyone else a fan?

Yeah, I bought her album from iTunes & definitely like it, although I haven't heard it enough yet 'cause it's been in my boyfriend's car!  I think "Love Song" is my favorite.   :)

I think sara bareilles is amazing. i'm glad some other VC fans think so too! I found out about her only a few weeks before her CD came out. She was opening for a Mika show i went to see in Boston. it was absolutely wonderful.

my favorites would probably have to be "Come Round Soon," "Fairytale," "Vegas," and "Love Song."

I love her cd. I saw her open for Maroon 5 last weekend and she was fantastic.

Just DLed her CD from iTunes. It's great! She has nice melodies, a soulful voice and interesting lyrics. I love the song "Vegas".

This sounds bad, but from listening to the first 20 seconds of her song on her website, she sounds sort of generic... her voice anyway.

after hearing some of her songs on promosquad, and after a friend I know from being a Paula fan said I HAD to get this cd I decided to get it lol and it's really good. I love "many the miles" and "city" those are my favorites as of right now.

if you guys like her, you'll probably like maggie mcclure who i made a thread for :) she reminds me a lot of maggie.

She has a great voice though.

She ripped off Angela Aki, her song Love Song sounds oddly similar to Angela Aki's "Kiseki". Angela Aki is an extremely famous Italian/Japanese-American from Hawaii singer/song writer who's currently focused on a career in Japan.

Sarah's song -

Angela's song -

It's so damn similar. lol Not the same, but man, the similarity is uncanny at times.

Angela became well known for performing the theme song of Final Fantasy 12 for those not familiar with her. That may ring a bell.
And it's bad news, baby it's bad news
It's just bad news, bad news, bad news
'Cause you're just damage control
For a walking corpse like me - like you,
'Cause we'll all be portions for foxes
Yeah, we'll all be portions for foxes.

if you listen to the Angela's song after Sara's, there are huge similarities. but if you listen it to the other way around, i found it very different.

not saying that Angela ripped off of Sara's or anything but thats just how it sounds in my opinion.

How do we know this chick didn't rip of Sara though?

I do see the similarities, but you never know she could have found Sara's song before Sara became famous.

And Love Song always reminded me of this song from high school musical that i can never remember the name of. So maybe one of them got it from that lol who knows.

btw Sara is gonna be on the Saturday Early Show on CBS between the 8am-9am hour tomorrow I believe.
