the point is irrelevant. she's signed by a label. therefore, she's not indie. indie isn't a style.. it's a fact - are you on an independent label? are you signed at all? if that's true, you're indie. if you're signed to a major label, you're certainly not indie. indie is short for independent.

Yes, Indie is not a style of music, it's a type of a musician related to the recording label, whether is major label or indie label and Vanessa is a major label artist.
I think her genre is mostly pop or classical pop...

When I put Heroes and Theives in my computer it's listed as General Pop, Harmonium was Alternative and I can't remember what Be Not Nobody Was but I think it was pop rock.

What songs of Vanessa do you normally play for your boyfriend? He may just have heard a few of her more hard songs.

classical pop...

but that's not true either. there's really no such thing. just because she's classically trained in piano does not mean that her style is anywhere near classical. that doesn't even make much sense. she's pop, maybe pop/rock, or even alternative, and that's giving her a lot of credit (for harmonium).

Ya, I'm not sure about the classical thing tho...She sounds pop and alternative could be the best put for her too...

He thought her new songs on H&T were rock......
And to me...that is the farthest from 'rock' that Vanessa could get...
And keep in mind that for my ex-boyfriend...rock is like Metalica, Led Zeplin, and AC/DC....so yeah...thats why i was arguing with him... LOL

But if its alt. rock or pop rock then i would kinda agree...especially for BNN and Harmonium... :)
But I think that H&T has more of a classical sound to it...so maybe classical pop if theres any such thing...LOL! :D

punctuation would be nice.. that was hard to understand.

i was agreeing with you, but the point is there's no debate; it's a fact that she's signed by a major label and therefore, not indie.

i don't know why anyone cares either, but alas, there's a thread about this.
