Guys, we all agree on this: Next year, Vanessa will AT LEAST get a Grammy nomination for this? This is so unbelievable. I love Heroes & Thieves, adore Harmonium but this... I've never heard something like that before. Well, I was completely aware that this would blow me away but THAT far?! Each song is a masterpiece, she took her art (and music in general) on such another level. This is so original, in music nowadays and in her catalogue. "Dear California" reminds of Liz Phair but Liz Phair in the early 90's (listen to "Divorce Song" before telling me I'm wrong), of course it's very much Vanessa-esque
I've nothing more to add, I could go on and tell you why I ADORE those songs, but they speak for themselves. It's impossible not to love them and even less likely over here. Best. Music. Ever.
