Natalie Imbruglia--Left of the Middle
Normally, i wouldn't directly attack a top 10 choice since, first and foremost, it's about personal taste.
But in this case, I want to point out that the song "Smoke" off of this album is tied for the WORST lyrics of all time.
What is it tied with, you may ask? "Take the money and run" by the Steve Miller band. With such rhyme schemes as "Billy Mack is a detective down in
texas. Knows exactly what the
facts is". Or the always amazing rhyme of "They headed down to, ooh, old
El PasoThat's where they ran into a great big
hassle".
Someone tell Steve that THOSE DON'T RHYME.
Then Natlie contributes the always deep and thought provoking line "What's up with that?" to the music world. As in;
"My Lullaby, hung out to dry
What's up with that
It's over
Where are you dad
Mum's lookin' sad
What's up with that
It's dark in here"
but she says it OVER AND OVER throughout the song ruining a GREAT chorus with HORRIBLE verses. That ALONE should knock "Left of the Middle" off the list!
