Interesting Leno performance I must say.
Amy didnt seem quite on her game tonight. Ben played perfectly, and Rocky did this one short drumsolo/riff thing I was like: damn!
And there's a lot of backing tracks used on there too.  :?
So it was a good performance, but nothing outstanding.

they did something to her volume, or something because it got normal, but when she was singing the verses she would go low along with the volume...but she does have a lot of emotion while singing.

Shockingly I saw the Leno performance last night...I was about to turn him off, cause I don't always watch the interviews...But he said and Evanescence was performing and I got a tape ready. I got it on video tape...But I laughed so hard when he said "Evancents." I was a little dissapointed with the performance but it still kicked butt!

wow.... Evanescence ROCKED at Pepsi Smash tonight! they seroiusly kicked @ss!

before Monica performed i turned around and there was Ben Moody standing in my section like 5-8 rows back. i didnt know what he was doing there, but that was awesome! i couldnt believe i was actually gonna see them live, it was like a dream come true. so seeing him made it hit me that it was all true! i have not been that excited to see someone live since nsync on december 1st, 2000, that was my first concert!

then after Gavin performed i turned around and there was Ben Moody and Amy Lee like 5-8 rows back in my section again! they were watching Gavin finish up and i got Bens attention and smiled and waved at him and he smiled and waved back!  :D i think he's my fave member of the band now! cause he seems SO nice and down to earth! everyone was screaming for them, but Ben got us to quiet down for a lil because they then did an interview with the Everwood girl and then went down to the stage.

It took me awhile to get Amy's attention while they were hanging out on stage before performing, my friend Viv and I tried yelling together and it didnt work... we were only like 10-15 feet away from her but it was very loud in there. then this girl next to me said that we should scream together. it worked! Amy turned around and waved at us, did a lil spin and curtseyed! lol.  :)

They sang "Going Under" first and then "Bring Me To Life." they were soooo good! i loved it and cannot wait to see them again on August 4th! they came back again at the end of the show (after the Ataris made their second appearence) as a surprise and played "Haunted" for us! amazing job! i freaked out when the guy announced Evanescence would be coming back on stage!

i am now a much bigger fan since ive seen them live!

if you wanna see my full reveiw, check out the Pepsi Concert thread

On Pepsi Smash:

I think the performance of BMTL was one of the strongest I've seen them do. John was really on with the vocals and the performance just generally kicked ass. "Going Under" was the same as Leno pretty much, shaky at first but got much better towards the end. I am forming the hypothesis that her voice needs time to warm up, or she is doing that drop it a note at first on purpose.

I thought Going Under was better than Leno . . .and I agree about the male vocals in BMTL.

Yes, mhmm Kick ass, yep.  I think you covered it.

brian...she is...now i haven't seen her live except on leno and smash...but when i sing going under i always tend to get really low for the first part. (which makes the song hella hard to sing, even though i am a bad singer.)

So I believe that is what she is doing, she gets low at the beginning of the second verse too.
