Sunday School

Little Mary was not the best student in Sunday School. Usually she slept through the class. One day the teacher called on her while she was napping, ''Tell me, Mary, who created the universe?'' When Mary didn't stir, little Johnny, an altruistic boy seated in the chair behind her, took a pin and jabbed her in the rear. ''God Almighty !'' shouted Mary and the teacher said, ''Very good'' and Mary fell back to sleep.

A while later the teacher asked Mary, ''Who is our Lord and Savior?'' But Mary didn't even stir from her slumber. Once again, Johnny came to the rescue and stuck her again. ''Jesus Christ!'' shouted Mary and the teacher said, ''Very good,'' and Mary fell back to sleep. Then the teacher asked Mary a third question, ''What did Eve say to Adam after she had her twenty-third child?'' And again, Johnny jabbed her with the pin. This time Mary jumped up and shouted, ''If you stick that damn thing in me one more time, I'll break it in half!'' The Teacher fainted.

i agree. you don't have to be a certain organized religion to believe in God, or any higher power. My best friend is Agnostic. She doesn't like the whole organized religion thing. She just believes that there is a higher power somewhere, and whatever it is is laughing its ass off at us.

Oh please, don't make me send you my 3000 word essay on Evolution and the Biblical concept of creation. You are just choosing to ignore the evidence.

This BS on not understanding how people can't believe in god- ever stop to think that maybe you're wrong and God doesn't exist? That is just as much a possibility.

a 3000 word essay on the biblical concept of creation? from you, I dont think so. I'm not ignoring evidence, I believe in god, you might not, you might want me to think "though what if he doesn't exist?" but I'm not going to think that way, I truly believe in him, when I was asked questions when being confirmed I stayed true to the promises I made to god, I didn't just say "I do" for nothing, I said it with meaning, when I said those two words, I said them to god, to my family, to eveyone dear to me.
It might be a possibility to you, but to me, I am not for one second going to think/believe that he might not exist.

You might, I'm not.

I'm a strong believer in god.

I think you fail to recieve the point i'm making.  Believing in God doesn't somehow make you more morally valid than me, nor does it make you a better person. What you fail to see is how people can choose not to believe in God, and they have legitimate reasons for doing so- i never asked you to consider whether god exists or not, i asked you to consider that you might be in the wrong and that not everyone has to follow the beliefs you hold to lead a life considered acceptable- it is an ignorant life to lead.

I honestly think you should be more respectful, she hasn't said anything disrespectful about you or your faith, she's only stated the possibility of there being other options. I think that comment of yours was very rude and unnecessary.

Btw Rosie doesn't need to prove you she's written a 3000 word essay, though we all know she's smart enough for that and a lot more. Now I'll shut up or I'll start sounding as rude as you.

You seem to think that I am not understanding your "point." I never said that believing in god makes me more morally valid than you or anyone else for that matter. I never said it made me a better person either. I said I believe in god, and when I was confirmed and said those words that I made a promise. I am not making others believe what I believe either, I'm not preaching or telling people, "oh be catholic, you must be catholic, because we believe in one almighty god, oh you must be catholic!" I'm not saying that. You might want to consider if he does exist or not, thats your choice. I respect it.
I think he does exist.
