Voting "White Houses" for the TRL Countdown
« on: August 12, 2004, 07:57:41 am »
Hey kids!! It's that time again. We have to get "White Houses" on TRL and make our way (not downtown) but to the top of the chart. I know that together we can do it.

You can vote online here scroll down and of course choose Vanessa Carlton

or/and call
1-800-DIAL MTV (342-5688) from 4:30-5:00 EST. When Carson comes on hit 1 then 826. They will say thank you for voting for Vanessa Carlton "White Houses" and dial again. You only get three votes per phone line.

So...  who has voted?  I know a lot of us started when the video premiered and have been voting all night or even have a link in their sig. That's awesome!!

I lost count of how many times I've voted between 7pm last night and right now.  But I'm going to keep on voting.

Goal 1: get White Houses on the countdown
Goal 2: get white houses to no.1
Goal 3: keep white houses on the countdown, until the video has to be "retired"

The video is great and so is the song.  It shouldn't take long for non-fans to even start voting too!

I don't know if everyone knows the history but we did get "A Thousand Miles" retired but not to #1. We did get "Ordinary Day" to #1 but sadly were only a few days shy of retirement. "Pretty Baby" well...

I have voted easily over 100 times. Probably 120. I am going to continue voting until 5:00 PM. I am taking a day off of doing anything, I am worn out from tennis. I have the time!

w00t! I have been voting loads today- i just hope it counts, i'm only entering the birthdate they ask for at the bottom of the screen- does that still count as a valid entry? Because it seems to be letting me vote regardless. YAY for the return of TRL voting!

Grrr. The MTV site is so slow. I need broadband.

That question bugged me for ages when we set up the TRL comps. Also whether repeat votes actually count. They could be denying repeat or incomplete votes silently. In the end I just decided that there's no way to tell. So there's not really any point worrying it.

The best chance to get votes through would be to fill in all the details, wipe your cookies between each vote and perhaps replace your IP address between every vote. But who can be bothered to do that?! I just vote and hope for the best :)

You guys rock!!

I am not sure about how many count cause unlike the phone thing. They don't say how many times each person can vote online.

We always wondered if TRL is rigged or not but all we can do is try.

I've voted online but since I'm working so much I haven't been able to call.

I'll try to get some votes in.....

By phone, you can only vote 3 times per phone-line but as far as I know, online voting is unlimited.

i'm pretty sure it's unlimited. otherwise, how would they know if it's the same person voting or not? unless you're logged in as a user, but even then i don't think it matters.
