MISSY HIGGINS
I know there are posts about her in the AsS thread but its been about a month since we added her into the thread and I'm afraid that know one will be taking notice so I have decided to make a thread up just for her

Missy Higgins is a 21 year old Australian songwriter/musician/singer (as she has stated).

Missy won a radio competition when she was 17, the prize was a record deal.
Instead of recording it then and there, she instead chose to travel around Europe after leaving school and worked on her songwriting.
Her first EP was released November last year and was successful on many local radio stations but didnt really pick up in the mainstream charts.
But Missy's 2nd release SCAR EP was picked up by alot of major radio stations and music programs, with alot of hard work and touring Missy managed to nab herself a number one hit on the Australian music chart.

She really does rock guys, it might take a while to get used to her style and accent but she is Australian so thats how she sounds

i've been a fan since she won the triple J thing and have been waiting patiently for the new album. have the 2 EPs from iTunes. she's AMAZING.

Are you going to order her cd off her website Jessica?
You get a free live cd with it, I'm tossing up whether too. I would really like to but I am impatient and wanted to get it the day it comes out.
I was lucky enough to have gotten her 1st release in the mail this week because I ordered it from the site.
My favorite song is actually fastly becoming The Cactus that found the beat. What is yours?

This music is pretty good 8O. I could only find one song to stream on the site, but I will definitely look for more. I happened to click the link because I was updating the Other Musicians Thread and decided to check it out, and wow it is good.

Cool Brian :wink: Im very glad that you gave her a listen.
She writes some brilliant songs, yeh there is a new song on her website everyday. Song 9 off her cd is up today called The River so there is not many more to go but if u go to videos then there are a few you can watch.
