Sex before Marriage?

Hello,

So this topic has come up several times recently where I have asked a few people what their opinions are on sex before marriage.  So here is a poll!  Now, just because you've had sex and are not married doesn't mean your opinions can't change.

You know that Dirrty feeling when you wake up with no pants on face down on the floor of the city bus and you got like a condom in your ear? Thats the feeling we are trying to create! - Sarah Michelle Gellar

depends ...
depends on if you're an idiot or not ... because ...
so much is involved in a sexual relationship.
For me the 2 main things are ... children and STD's ...
A USA study has seen an average of 2/3 of people under 30 will have some STD or another .. now while some are curable .. as in their symptoms are curable .. others like herpes .. can lie dormant before they show up again ...
Now personally, I really don't want any form of STD EVER! I look after myself so well so that I DON"T get sick, and I don't want some idiot giving me a virus or sickness ...

there was a doco on TV last night actually where the partner is unfaithfull to his woman partner and has another "nightlife" and give her the AIDS virus, but he didn't know he had it himself ... she was faithful to him, but went to the doctor sick, and the doctor told her then she told her partner.. anyway, that's how it happens in Africa as well ... multiple partners sprading the AIDS virus.
Now i'm not saying everyone who has sex before marrige will get aids .. no of course not ... you'll be smarter than that, and use protection. (undies!!)
Trust is also a huge part to play ...

THa'ts the first one, the second one is children. There's a huge committment if one makes a "mistake" .. and if both parties aren't ready rah rah .. hardly anyone actually discusses it .. unless it's a "serious" relationship ..

ok so that's STD"s and pregnancy ...
but at the beginning I say, depends on if you're an idiot ...
because of course otherwise you'll take precautions ... but
(a) no one likes to think that they are idiots
(b) no ever thinks it wll happen ot them.

So PERSONALLY, IN MY OPINION .. I say GENERALLY no ...
Again .. different circumstances like if someone'd been going out for ages blah blah ... I see no problem ... but again, I WOULDN"T ...

So it means maybe that I have less experience ... maybe it might be awkward ... but .. meh ...

Actually it depends on whether or not you believe in marrige!!! Marrige is a religious institution more than anything, and lots of people aren't a religion! So what's marrige to them? Nothing!
I am a religion, and it makes it easier for me to say no :-)

Yes. If you love the person and you're safe then i see no reason why not. I don't have a problem with it at all.

I don't "believe" in it.  I just do it.

Sex, if handled properly is fine.

The only thing for me is I refuse to just go out and have pointless sex with some girl I meet at a show or club or something, before I'd think of going in that direction, it'd be known to both her and myself that the relationship was strong and we both agreed it had reached that point.............I mean sex isn't a toy (like many people believe it is), and therefore I personally choose to treat it with respect
Washington is a dreadfully awful place......this I've learned

I don't see the problem with casual sex.  As long as both parties are clear on their expectations, then why can't they both have an enjoyable experience?

Not that I deem it wrong for other people to do, it's just a way for me to remain a straight-edged old fashioned kind of guy that should've been born in the 20's or something

Unless it's a sex toy.

I accidentally put "nope", but I meant to put "Yes". I disagree with my church's stance on that....

Yeah.

well coming from a 15-year-old female, i say no.

i think there is more of a concern of getting pregnant, for me, than a STD.  because really, having a baby changes your life, and plans for your life, hopefully for the better, but it may not be what your were planning on till you were 30, and i don't think it's worth taking that risk.
and yes, STDs can change your life, but a baby is another life, and a much bigger responsibility that will be there forever, unlike some STDs that can be treated and rid of.
