Love Song makes me want to tear my ears off. It was mediocre when it first came out & I really can't understand why it's on the radio every other song. Sorry.

I have the album.  It's not bad.  I REALLY like "Love Song".  It's easily my favorite single of '08, even though it came out in '07.  It's about as pop as early VC, in my opinion, and it rocks.  There's nothing else quite like that on the album, but that's OK.  In a strange way, it reminds me of my own amateurish banging on the keys---people say that I play piano like a drummer---but maybe I'm a sucker for that quarter-note feel.  The chorus almost wants to be a shuffle.

Like the song or hate it, you gotta respect the craft.  It's well written, and I've seen a few live clips that IMO had a little more oomph than the studio track.

I'm all for hearing more from Sara.

I can see what you mean about it being a respectable song given that it's at least better than most of the crap out there on the radio... but I think she falls short of making the song unique. To me it sounds average & generic. Vanessa's song was definitely in the same category as this song, since it became kind of the year's anthem for commercials, etc, but I think ATM is a much more clever & different sounding song than this one. Sara's voice is... just like everyone else's, sorry to say. And although the piano is catchy, I don't find it memorable on it's own.

I don't really know what to think about her. I like "Love Song", but it's played more than anything in the goddamn world. This irritates me. But I still like it. As for her other music (that I've heard), I don't care for it a particular amount. She's (seems to be) talented, though.
Why don't you come on over? Stop making a fool out of me.

No, The Fray's "how to save a life" & Daughtry's "Home" is played more than anything in the world. i've heard both of those songs on 3 stations at once a few times..seriously, those songs need to die lol.

I love, love, love her album.
I don't actually remember where I first heard about her...Love Song isn't played as much here as it seems to be in the States, most of my friends have no idea who she is (in fact, whenever I mention Sara Bareilles to one of my friends, she always seems to think I'm referring to Sarah Blasko...:S) BUT yeah, Sara Bareilles is pretty awesome.

I'm really liking "Many the Miles" and "City" at the moment. :D

I didn't think Sarah Blasko had much of a profile outside of Australia! Are
we talking about another Sara Bareilles fan from 'Down Under' or what?!

Peace

Oh yeah, I'm from Australia (I thought I noted that under 'location', but apparently not :S)

Sweet! I'm on the Gold Coast as you can see by the location under my Av.

Sarah Blasko is such an underated Aussie artist ~ kinda like Melissa Talon!

So, she was really good. I was impressed. Strong voice. Not sure about the piano skills. She's got a great personality too. I haven't finished listening to the CD so that opinion is out. Live was great though. Stupid Hotel Cafe show she only did a few songs. My friends got videos:

Bottle It Up
Oh Darling
Gravity
Many The Miles
Vegas
Love Song
