if it wasn't for the White Houses controversy, what would you have wanted to be the next single for Harmonium?

Personally, I think Private Radio or San Francisco would've been good choices, and would've got her into good graces with MTV and her old record company.
I also have great images for "She Floats", but they would probably cut out the violin intro, and although it's beautiful, i don't think it would help her much, cos most everyday people would want to prefer to listen to Private Radio over She Floats.

"Private Radio" or "Who's To Say" would have been the best choice for second single.

I'm leaning more towards "Private Radio" because it's very radio-friendly and catchy, and then maybe "Who's To Say" to slow it down a little.

The label were stupid telling V that there were no more singles from that album, because anyone with ears can hear that isn't true at all.

Annie or Who's to Say.

Annie because the intro is so captivating and dramatic, and i think it makes you stop and listen.

Who's To Say because of the message it has in the lyrics, and its pretty.

Private Radio was THE song. It would have done better than everything other than ATM probably. Unfortunately, it never got the chance.

i know! I don't think it would've done better than ATM, but it would've definately got her back in good graces with her record company and MTV, and i think it definately would've gotten her back in the limelight.

"Private Radio" would have been an excellent single, but it was still a sensitive time in our country, and a song about making bombs in the middle of the night was just not what we needed on the airwaves.

ummmm....that's not what the song was about. one time she said at a concert that it WASN'T about making bombs at night, so maybe you're a little confused. I dunno.....maybe you're right, but i portray it as just insomnia.

I'm well aware of what the song is about.  It's about the innocent things.  I think it would've done well, though.

Call me crazy, but I think Papa would have been a good single. People started liking Vanessa because ATM was so catchy and everyone wanted to learn it on piano. Private Radio is a catchy song indeed, but other than the little solo she does in the bridge, the piano playing is not very noticeable. However, Papa is all about the piano, and people would have gone crazy when listening, and everyone would have tried to learn the song at home. Not only that, but the dark theme of the song would have got V a more expanded fanbase and would discover other dark-ish songs like HAWBTW and C'est la Vie.

That's what I feel about the second single thinking of the record label and V's place in the mainstream, being objective. But thinking about which song I like the most, I would've chosen Who's To Say or Afterglow.
