This is rediculous..why care more than the artist or her team? It's been a fucking year since shes chimed in....and the porn over on her 'official' boards was a huge slap in the face......I can't believe her management doesn't watch out for stuff on the internet.  It totally makes Vanessa and her maganement/label look like shit.  There are underaged members, they shouldn't see that on a Vanessa Carlton site.

There are sooo many indie artists who constantly work hard at what they do, and are constantly on the road, and still find the time to update fans, and make sure the sites are not getting spamed....sad.  I tried to hang out, but it's gone wayyyy too far...I can't believe there are people who will bite their tongue......nahhhh.

 And porn? I dont use those boards but realy?! Well I will always love her music . I just wish that she cared more but thats always been vanessa, so ive learned to except it. During long waiting periods I venture into other music for awhile, then when some new stuff comes out or I feel like it, I listen to Vanessa again, then the music seems a bit less tired out, though I will love her music forever.

There are tons of awesome artists out there who will never sell 10 thousand CD's let alone a million. Who knows, maybe this is how V wants it, to do her music her way, and if it sells it sells and if it doesn't, it doesn't.

I don't care if she sells a million albums, but obiously she doesn't either..she doesn't even cater to the people who actually bought it.  But I won't continue to support someone who can give two shits about me.

bla bla bla all this about 'the written note' well if that theory of hers was true, there would be an address that fans could write letters....I fear she made enough money with ATM and ever sense had no reason to cater to the fans.  It's a little rediculous and I'm tired of biting my tongue and ignoring it.......and I know for a fact tons of people feel the same way..just scared to admit it.

there is no denying that she makes wonderful music, but like what has been said before, and little fan appreciation wouldn't hurt. i know for all you nessaholics who have been here for 6+ years, you have seen vanessa at her best, when she genuinely seemed to appreciate her fans. But for me, I really haven't seen that,so it's quite discouraging.

i've seen v do a pretty good job with her fans, which is why i'm extremely disappointed that she's no longer making an effort. i don't care if she's famous or not but i think nut is right, if we're going to give two shits about her music she should give two shits about us. otherwise she'd be nowhere near as financially set as she is, no one would know her name (or care).
or at least come around and be like okay i'm done. because what has she done! no communication! barely a tour to support her album! now absolutely nothing. not a peep. she could have died. who knows. but it is getting pretty fuckin lame being a vanessa carlton fan.

It's quite disappointing, I agree, but I don't think Im really ready to give up, yet. I mean, it's kind of lame, but we don't really know what's going on with her, right? No one here knows her personally.. (well, Im not sure about that one...?). It's just difficult to give up because on one hand, nutnlp is right, she hardly went on tour and she doesn't check in with her fans too often... but I don't know if I could ever just disown her. I've loved her music for so long, and it's helped me so much. Though, it's also true that she would be nowhere without fans like us!

Truth be told, I can see both sides of this argument.

I think a lot of us have moved on to other artists and bigger and better things musically in the past few years, but have stayed around to lend support when we can and to maintain the friendships and comradery built in V's prime. Realistically to me, it is what it is. I have made peace with whatever happens from here on out.

Yeah, but it's cool when you aren't ignored completely.  I can see many of her 'crazy' fans becoming that way because they believe in someone who just more or less ignores them.  That totally sucks.

I like her music but not sure I think she is all that cool of a person.

You all have some good points. I don't mean to repeat but don't give up. I know that V appreciates her fans. She's just not real good at keeping in touch. Maybe she's super busy on projects, maybe she not doing anything but relaxing and drawing inspiration. Yes, it would be nice to hear a little hi, maybe even a blog about her experience in the Artic. I'm not going to give up on her just because she doesn't stay in touch. Don't you have friends who don't keep in touch or even family members? We all get busy.  

Like someone said before, Nh.com is about having a place where we can keep in touch, talk about what's going on, new artists we've found etc. We're going on 7 years here people. Vanessa knows we're here for her when she's ready.

Re: the porn, not a big surprise without any active mods there. Kinda why Nh.com was launched.

Vanessa is still my #1 and will always be my #1. I have other artists to follow while she's not on tour and that's just fine with my bank account.

When that record comes out you know she will give us a shout out.

She's always said she's about the music not the fame.
